A Pig Reflects on His Life

On final Sunday in our series, we’ll step back and consider a life time view of handling personal finances. What would be a ‘successful’ feeling to have in regard to handling money? What are the pitfalls to stay away from? How can we stay focused in a way that keeps us heading in the right direction?
If you have missed some of the previous weeks, be sure to go listen:

What is Grander Vision Living? It’s allowing other pursuits to fall away in order to focus on the prior- ity that is nearest to the heart of God: people. When you choose to pursue the Grander Vision, you will be partnering with God in the most magnificent mission imaginable: finding what’s lost, restoring what’s bro- ken, and reclaiming what’s his.

We begin our series with the simple reality that of all the things to get excited about and share with friends, the message of Jesus is the single greatest gift. Will we enter the ‘zone of the unknown’ to bring this gift? Sunday March 7, our adventure begins. Our desire is to see everyone participate in small groups throughout the week to gain the maximum impact.

Walk Across the Room

During March, The Journey will be engaging in an all-church experience called Just Walk Across the Room. As fully devoted followers of Jesus, we are passionate about effectively responding to the Great Commission (Matthew 28). We believe, this 4 week campaign which includes 4 Sundays and 4 weeks of small group material will help us fulfill our mission as a church.

This is probably the most fundamental question people ask. What works for you? What doesn’t work for you? How does God connect with us? Sunday we will compile the input we get with some of the key directions found in the Bible. We hope our interaction proves to be meaningful.

Into The Pen

Our new series on personal finances begins by us “going into the pen” to see the reality of our finances. How do we handle money? Is our current level of spending, saving, giving, and investing wise? How do we think about this topic from a spiritual standpoint. This might get messy.

January 24 Schedule Matters

In a busy world, we are aware that SCHEDULES matter. Our discussion Sunday will be around the spiritual aspects of how we plan and live our weekly schedules.

One could say,
“Principles drive our schedules…and our schedules reflect and re-enforce our principles.”

Should be an interesting discussion!
Read Psalm 90:12-17 to get a peak at the opening scripture for Sunday.

Structure Matters

Does Structure Matter?
Well, in physical things like bridges, buildings, and airplanes - absolutely.
In organizations like government, education, and even sports teams - absolutely.
How about in a church? Should a church have a structure? does it matter? what does the Bible say?
Sunday, we’ll discuss how to have a structure that fosters the direction of our church, handles the difficult situations, but is flexible enough not to be a buried in bureaucracy!

Jan. 10th - CLARITY Matters

Sunday January 10th, we’ll be discussing the importance of CLARITY in our lives. The importance shows up most prominently in the area of CLARITY about our beliefs, our faith, our trust in Jesus. Being ‘fuzzy’ in this matter might cause us to miss the central message that Jesus came to make clear for us.

The spiritual significance of Christmas is captured in a single word. That word is Incarnation. The Jewish people waited centuries for the Messiah to come, for the incarnation to happen. Jesus was the fulfillment of much anticipation. Jesus was the fulfillment of the OT covenants and prophecies. Jesus is the incarnation of God into our world. This is Christmas.
