CORE Beliefs 2012

For 8 weeks, our entire church will attempt to grasp the Core Beliefs of historic Christianity. Skeptics, Seekers, and Spiritually focused people are encouraged to actively participate as we put together all the key elements of Christianity. People who engage in this series will gain a richer theological framework for faith and life.

Margin with Finances - Jan. 22

Living a Life Within the Margin is very difficult in every aspect, but maybe mostly so in the area of finances. With so many people in our culture buried in debt, dealing with homes on the brink of foreclosure, and money being a constant source of stress - SOMETHING needs to be done.

On Sunday January 22, we will deal with several critical and practical suggestions; however, the transition happens in the spiritual world before it impacts the financial world.

Margin with Time January 15

The Bible offers great principles to be applied to daily decisions.
We hope to establish some clear guidelines together.

Why is Margin Important?

Life with NO margin is: highly stressful, reduced joy, limited friendships, and restrictive on faith.
We are going to take some deliberate steps to live “Inside the Margin.”
This life of health and space is designed by God for each of us to enjoy. January is a great time to take some specific corrective action in our lives - towards Margin!

Fresh Start

Fresh Start is our first Sunday experience in the new year.
This combined 10:00am ONLY service is family friendly - so parents are encouraged to bring their children. We’ll have some light breakfast - including Fruitloops!

Our reflection will be around starting the new year - FRESH.
We’ll end by having communion together.

Margin (Living Inside The)

Especially in the area of time, finance, and developing faith - most of us need help!
Living Inside The Margins will cause us to re-think what is healthy and what is sustainable living.

Christmas Eve 2011

The Journey Church has a wonderful Christmas Eve Service planned! This year, we’re designing a sacred night. You are invited to get a little more dressed up (Jeff will be wearing a tie!) and invite neighbors and family to join us. We’ll have sparkling cider, cheese and crackers, and other h’orderves as you arrive.

Services start at 5:00pm and 7:00pm.
Child Care for infants - Kindergarden will be provided.

Hi there,
Not sure who reads these anymore, but here I go either way.
I’ve been listening to the podcasts your emotion series, just an FYI it’s the only series I’ve been able to hear completely through without part of the Podcast missing or stop working, I think it’s a problem on my computer.
Ok I’m avoiding…. I find that I can relate to and get a lot of comfort from many of things discussed in the recent series. Which I haven’t finished yet.

Emotions: Envy

ENVY - unfortunately, this isn’t just a childish emotion adults no longer wrestle with. Envy becomes a destructive blocker between co workers, family members, neighbors, and church members. We will uncover this emotion and then find a way to directly counteract that negative fall-out.

Guilt Nov. 6

Guilt says, “I owe you.” There are only two ways of dealing with this emotion.
On Sunday November 6, we’ll explore the spiritual answer required if we want to end the destructive power of guilt in our lives.

Oct. 30 Confidence in Position

Where can we be the most confident? When we are standing NEXT to Jesus Christ! Romans 8 is packed with clear assurances for every person who is “In Christ” and being “controlled by the Holy Spirit.” The end of Romans 8, provides a direct blast of additional confidence that NOTHING can separate us from the Love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Going to be a great Sunday, especially as we wrap up with communion at the end of the worship experience.

Romans 8 gives a huge quantity of trust in God’s work in our lives and specifically on October 23 we will read the part about the PROCESS God has begun in working on us!
Big words like “foreknew and predestined” - are very meaningful when applied personally.

West Nile virus causes an infection that is spread by certain kinds of mosquitoes. Most often, mosquitoes get infected when they bite infected birds. Then the mosquitoes spread the virus when they bite people or other animals, such as horses. West Nile cannot spread from these animals to people or from person to person through casual contact.
