Anyone want to help?
I’ve been contacted by the Mental Healthy Advocacy project to help a lady in need:
I’m going on Thursday July 10th at 5:00pm… anyone want to come with me?
The client’s name is Brenda, and she lives in Sunnyvale.
Ms. Tickler’s apartment is in disarray following a flood in her bathroom. Many of her belongings were moved for cleaning and repairs; and, due to very severe physical disabilities, she is unable to clean and reorganize her apartment without assistance.
Anyone with me? call 408. 499.9790
Local Neighborhood needs your support
Silver Leaf Neighborhood has been participating in a Listening project in conjunction with the City of San jose. The project was used to pinpoint areas of need and development in the neighborhood. Once the results were tabulated we then take those results to City Council. Our neighborhood is currently looking for individuals interested in supporting us to present the findings to our District Council Member Forrest Williams. Its one hour on Saturday March 1 at 10:30 at the new Edenvale Library, registration starts at 10.
Anyone have a bed for Maggie?
Hey…anyone have a bed for Maggie?
She is the 69 year old widow.. we helped clean out her house for community impact day.
The current bed she sleeps on is not acceptable.
Give me a call or email if you know of one.

One More Boost for Maggie?
Maggie is so thrilled with all the work we’ve done for her!
She says she now has hope for her “new life.”
So…I’m trying to finish a few things for her
Two more rooms need to be cleared out, walls and floors desperately need cleaning, and her kitchen needs to be cleaned.
Hopefully that will remove the cat smell.

Gift wrap change
Due to new regualtions, we are not able to wrap in front of Toys R Us this year. We have tried other stores as well but it seems like we need to go with Plan B for this year. Plan B is more of a community impact project than a outreach but we still will be giving to the community. You know how there are all those places that take donations of toys and then hand them out to children? Well, we are hoping to help one of these organizations wrap the gifts that are donated. We are working on a few leads and will get out the information as soon as we have it.
Thanks!

Community Outreach
Hey Everyone. I have a community Impact opportunity that I was hoping some fellow Journeyites would be willing to help out with.
I am a community leader for the Silver Leaf Neighborhood. We have a community Impact project that has already started and we are hoping to recruit some outreach oriented people to help us.
When is the next CID?
Hi everyone,
Recently I started volunteering for C.O.M.E. (Community Outreach Ministry Endeavor)
in downtown San Jose. This Christian ministry was established in 1985. They provide free food & clothing to the homeless & the needy. Their program is driven by Matthew 25:35-40 which is one of my favorite passages in the entire bible.
