When I look at my white skin, the skin of my ancestors I can&#8217;t help but feel responsible for the atrocities that have happened globally. Recently I am embarrassed to call myself an American, and often claim Canadian citizenship when talking to others in Europe (or quickly apologizing for the actions of the country I was born in).
