Do unto others...

in

So we have 30 days to live. The question came up, what would Jesus do? One answer…reach out to others, feed the poor, relieve suffering. The answer?

Georgia's Family Daycare

Happy Fall!

Many of you know me from the second Sunday service or the Journey Ladies group but what you may not know is that I’m a family daycare provider and that now I’m looking for a special child to join our small daycare family.

Preface to 30 Days to Live

in

I’m a senior citizen, so my persepctive may differ from some of the younger Take The Journey Church members. Scripture tells us in 1 John 2:23-25 that if we have the Son (Jesus) then, we also have the Father. Nowhere are we promised “tomorrow”, but rather we are promised “Today”. So if we were given thirty (30) days to live what would we actually do?

HS Youth Group

I just wanted to share that I’m so excited to start leading the HS Youth Group with Travis and Jeff. I can’t wait and I’m sure it’ll be a great year! I hope to see all the current students there and get to know each one of you and plan great things to do in the group!

What Lessons Have You Learned?
Parents, please take a moment and write a short reflection on what you have LEARNED as a parent. What are you trying now that seems to be working? Be sure to note helpful details like the age of your child. Collectively… we can probably put together some helpful tips.

Calling all videographers..or those in training...=)

in

I just wanted to know if anyone out there at our Church would want to record our wedding/reception? I would be willing to pay the person what it is worth, and would greatly appreciate the help! We have a photographer, but a video would be wonderful!!

Thanks if you can help!

New Online LTG

in

There is nothing like the personal touch, and being together face to face. But, sometimes schedules, locations and life… get in the way, and just plain make it impossible for those wonderful face to face encounters. So, I would like to try reading the same passages together with 4-5 people and discussing them…using e mail, or maybe a blog site. Sharing life’s journey as we feel free. Hoping to get some of the encouragement found in the LTG’s. It might be hard, but it might work for some people.

Ideas about Stretching your Faith

in

We talked this past Sunday about being a saferous church. Here are a few of the posted ideas that centered around stretching your faith.

  • Continue to address and respond to controversial matters
  • Theological debate club
  • Quit being soft on doctrine
  • Wrestle with the question of gay marriage

Do you like any of these? Are any of these safe or are they dangerous?
If yours wasn’t included or got misrepresented, speak up!

Ideas for Breaking out of the Mold

in

We talked this past Sunday about being a saferous church. Here are a few of the posted ideas that centered around breaking out of the mold.

  • More outdoor services at different locations
  • On a Sunday morning, we have one combined gathering…then, we pray as a group and ask God to show us what to do as a church to obey him. Then we organize as a church to do what he tells us.
  • Listen to what people want to talk about
  • Throw out time restraints
  • Ask the children what to do - they aren’t civilized yet
