Trials and prayer
So one of the songs this Sunday was about when you have trials, to take them to God in prayer. My question is what if you do that and nothing happens? What do you do then? What if you don’t have peace about it, you don’t have an answer, and you still don’t know what to do? Matthew 7:7 was brought up later too…”everyone who asks will receive…” Well how long do you have to ask for? How long before you are answered? What if you have been asking for years and years, and nothing has been answered?
Holy Spirit brainstorming session regarding prayer
Arlet, Ginny, and I got together and had a Holy Spirit led brainstorming session about how to improve the prayer covering for our church.
Here are some ideas that we feel the Lord gave to us:
Arlet:

Annointing oil
Email reminder prayer
Fresh
Small gatherings
Dinners
World prayer notes program
Prayer retreat leader
Pray experience on Sunday
Sing prayer only at communion
Relationships
Connect

Candles tents communion clusters
Bare bones
Calling list
Ginny:
Timed session like intermission or transition 1-2 min 45 sec
Prayer: forum or thread?
last night when i was on this site i had the realization that it would be awesome to have a place where people could ask for prayer, but i couldn't decide where to put it [greg's list? faith?)
actually, i think it should be another forum so that people could make requests as a thread and people can reply with encouragement & prayers and then finally the person making the request could close the loop by sharing outcome, etc.
