Dr. Kent Leinberger — “Bitterness” and, the cororllary issue: “Chruch, Why Bother”? This morning your message struck directly to the “HEART” of both of these spiritual issues. I, personally, derive exceedingly great benefit from attending “The Journey Church” because of its informal, direct-to-the-point, casual format. Additionally, I sincerely believe that your pastoral courage and core values that both serve and engender dedication to reaching members of our immediate neighborhood society through “Community Impact”, non-institutionalized and, authentically encouraging personal involvement is, in fact, truly based on the vision that our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ envisioned for courting and caring for His Bride. LTGs are a perfict example, howerer, as stated by the author of the New Testament book Hebrews: “Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another — and all the more as you see the Day approaching…. Hebrews 10:25.
Just how did Jesus train His disciples? First of all He selected twelve ordinary men, none of whom were associated with the “Religeous Elite”, but rather, common men, dispised Galaleians, people with human failings. And then, He taught, scoulded, forgave, and developed their leadership capablilities so that once He had accomplished His Father’s Will, sacrificed His own life for all man- and woman- kind in order to re-establish God’s original Covenant, He ascended to the Right-Hand of the Father and gifted those former disciples — now Apostles — on Pentecost with the Holy Spirit. And that CHANGED THE WORLD!
