talkinchurch.org
What do you think about talkinchurch.org as a new URL for the Journey?
Is takethejourney.org still the best url to convey what we’re about?
I think that there are a couple of options here and if we want to change the URL then this is the perfect opportunity; we wouldn’t have to get rid of takethejourney.org it could redirect to the new site or serve another purpose.
thoughts or other suggestions?
Branding
Maybe we should wait until we get feedback from our brand consultants?
Speaking of branding...
Something I found interesting: Some brands inspire some loyalty, for instance: If there is a Peets next to a Starbucks, I prefer Peets. However, some brands inspire insane loyalty, the perfect example is Harley-Davidson. How many products that you own would you consider getting a tattoo of?
Or Something Else Entirely
I’d like to open it up to more than the options offered in Jeff’s original post. We came up with the ones Jeff mentioned during the Purple Cobras phase of the relaunch. But everyone else might have some different ideas.
So, if you have some other ideas that reflect the notion of dialog, collaboration, spirituality, etc. toss them out and let’s see what surfaces!
I believe in God because every once in a while, I hear a voice that says, “You’re my favorite.”
i like "talkinchurch"
It’s participatory and fresh.
Plus having “church†in the name is OK because it tells you to do something in church you don’t normally get to do. :-)
But, I would suggest talkinchurch.com not .org.
I think most people automatically remember .com. And, we can have the primary be .org but have the .com redirect to .org.
See this list of “most innovative churches” and their Web URLs (http://outreachmagazine.com/library/features/doc...) - many are .com’s, so I don’t think .org is a necessary thing just because we’re a church.
As an aside - did you see “The Journey” church in Manhattan from that list? :-) Here’s their site: http://www.journeymetro.com/
