Getting started

in

I consider myself a web-savvy person, but I got a bit confused when I tried to log in. First, I didn’t notice the “Create a new account” link, so maybe that could stand out a bit more. Once I created my account, I tried logging in, and realized that I hadn’t specified a password when I created my account — more confusion. I didn’t notice anything that said, “Check your email for further instructions.”

"First" page

Some time was spent thinking about what the first thing that you would see would be… but that was the page after you login.

I added some text to the access denied page, hopefully that will ease any future confusion. There was a pop-up telling you to check your email but it was a box a the top back on the access denied page which looks similar to where you started from.

As we launch this site to the rest of the church and take away the veil of secrecry we’ll lift the need to login to see any content and the need for a secret code. We can require people to login to have to post, or comment, etc.

Re: "First" page

Ah. I have pop-ups blocked. I imagine most Safari users do. (Or did you mean a boxed response status thingie?)

There are certainly quite a lot of particulars like that to take into consideration. That is a nice level to deliver up. I offer the thoughts above as general inspiration however clearly there are questions like the one you deliver up the place the most important thing will likely be working in sincere good faith. I don?t know if best practices have emerged around issues like that, however I’m sure that your job is clearly recognized as a good game.
