10:02 Prayer

in
  1. Set a daily alarm for 10:02 on your watch or phone.
  2. When your alarm goes off, take a moment wherever you are and pray Luke 10:2 (NIV).

I recently resumed this practice.
If you decide to do this, leave a note below; it would encourage me to know that others are praying.

Or Do What the Muslims Do

Several years ago, this Muslim dude randomly IMed me and we eventually chatted about religion. I asked him why Muslims prayed five times daily. He said that it was their way of humbling themselves before Allah and to acknowledge their need. I told him that I wonder what would happen if I did the same thing every day with Jesus.

So, Jon, I think given your idea, I will experiment with this for a couple weeks and see what happens. Five times a day, I will stop what I am doing to focus myself on God, to hear him and speak with him.

I believe in God because every once in a while, I hear a voice that says, “You’re my favorite.”

prompted prayer

Sometimes I use different things around me to prompt prayer, for example one time when I had friends in China on a mission trip, I promised to pray for them everytime I saw a chinese store or restaurant. One of the days I found myself in driving down a road and hit a small “China Town”. I finially just pulled over a prayed for awhile, it was a very moving expieriance.
