Here is the list of points we talked about during the Leaders Roundtable following the Willow Creek Leadership Summit 2008…

See opportunities instead of obstacles. God often guides through what he does not provide.

Posture of surrender

It’s not about qualifications. It’s about being picked up by a force greater than ourselves.

Storms in life are when God’s high pressure comes in against our low pressure.

Decision making- Bible- Advisors- Pains and Gains- Prompting of the Spirit.

Make trial decisions- try out the decision for awhile and see what happens.

Leaders take responsibility if it fails and give credit if it works.

Bring what you have and God will do the rest. God is responsible.

Walk in obedience one step at a time.

Follow your compass, not your clock.

Refocus- remove what you need to.

IT- the leaders need to have IT.

Do the things no one else is doing to reach the people no one else is reaching.

Axioms- phrases that we can hold. Ex: “Leadership is sexy”

Be yourself- balance and listen

“Jesus didn’t come to make us safe. He came to make us brave.”

Peter failed when he trusted in himself which lead to his success in bringing 3,000 people to Christ.

The plan is us. There is no other plan.

When called and doors are being shut, it is still God’s calling.
