Two Saturday Opportunities
In addition to the Sunday options listed in the brochure…
there are two LARGE projects that we need extra help on SATURDAY …
We have an exciting opportunity to help out a group downtown called C.O.M.E., they are using an old house to feed literally hundreds of families every week.
This Saturday, starting at 7:30 AM, we are going to move things around where neccessary, clean it up - like dusting under moved furniture or wiping down around the edges so the tape sticks, and tape and drop plastic over any furniture, floors and windows, then spray the whole thing with a good coat of primer, and if time and crew permits, start putting on the new trim and wall colors. Help is really needed especially for the clean up and taping and putting down the plastic - it always takes more time then the spraying!!! Leave when you need to, we plan on finishing up before lunch.
Then …on Sunday all the prep work will be done and we will go right to work putting on the wall and trim color, simple and easy but the more hands the better. An hour before leaving we will strip away all the tape and plastic and leave them with a brand new enviournment, encouraging and honoring to the volunteers and all those who visit.
If you can some on Saturday - wear your grubbies, bring any spare paint supplies you might have around.
Please confirm by calling Tim or Jaclyn Horan - 408.578-4208.
#2 Maggie’s House
A 69 year old widow.
Her husband died about a year ago.. cancer - she is a sweet lady - NOT a hoarder. She is sharp. Currently scrapping by with social security and a reverse mortgage. Her husband had no life insurance. She sold a truck of his to pray for his funeral.
Her house is pack with “junk”
The yard is filled with junk.
There are 6 junk cars out front.. .we’ll have towed away this week.
We will make a MAJOR difference for this sweet lady.
Glen Burkhardt is going to lead a Saturday January 26th S.W.A.T. Team - to get things started.
Saturday Jan. 26th -from 9:00am til 2:00pm - we’ll invite anyone who can come help haul / sort / start this project.
We’ll all need gloves.
Bring lift trucks
Bring rakes, brooms, wheel barrows.
We’ll need a couple of tree saws / loppers to trim back overgrown trees.

Thank you!
Generous Lady
A very generous lady has donated a high chair, this request was emailed to her group, she does not belong to the Journey but she has a heart to give what she can. This is so exciting I am going to add on to this list.
23 young lady is 2 months pregnant and needs maternity cloths, she is small bone, I am thinking a size 5. She does not care if they are used
13 & 10 year old needs supplies for school. 10 year old needs help learning handwriting any activities that can be used will be very appreciated.
Other request are socks and T-shirts, ages are 5-years-old to 16.
Once again thank you for reaching out!

Need Your Donations!
Thank you everyone for your incredible generosity through the years. Once again, we are collecting any and all donations you have to send to our troops over seas. These donations can be found throughout your home, or of course, purchased! The needs range from snacks like granola bars, jerky and crackers, to new socks and foot powder. The complete list was in the Community Impact Day Insert, but if you think a soldier in the Middle East would like it, go ahead and bring it!
Even if you are signed up for a different project, we need your stuff!!!
Thanks in advance for your generosity. You are wonderful.
Another Generous Lady
The 10 month old baby now has a car-seat! Same story as above, my request was forward to her and she wants to donate.
Amazing, ask and you shall receive. ;)
Love our church
I love to see our church active in serving and giving! discipleship.. becoming like Jesus… not something we learn in our heads.. it’s something we live with our actions. Yes!
Go for it
Today a Pastor stopped by our site and talked about what we were doing…he was kinda concerned Jeff wouldn’t be preaching…but then he thought about it and said how nice it was for our pastor to have the day off!!!! ha ha ha - little does he know! It is so great to have a Pastor not afraid to get his hands dirty right along with us! (and his shirt, and his pants, and his….)
