Lots. Open it up. Turn it loose. Be willing to be uncomfortable. Let’s speak out loud in church (ok, so I ripped that off from Andy but he seems willing to share). Let’s talk in small groups on Sunday. Let’s have the freedom to disagree. Or to add ideas. Let’s have “Oh Oh Mr. Kotter! Mr. Kotter!” moments (and yeah, I know none of the younger people will get that reference LOL but go here to this Wikipedia entry and look for the Arnold Horshack section) where ppl are raising their hands and tossing stuff out.
Let’s have planned sessions where it’s kind of Open Mike Morning on Sunday or maybe several people are scheduled to offer short perspectives on a topic.
Let’s have people talented in A/V put things together. Or music mashups. Or whattheheckever.
I’m tired of looking at the backs of people’s necks. I want to see people’s faces, I want to hear their ideas, even the whack job ideas! I want to mix it up. I want to see, touch, smell, taste and hear what faith is like from the perspectives of other people. I want to be surprised. I want to be shocked and offended.
As Marcus says in Gears of War: “Bring it!”
I believe in God because every once in a while, I hear a voice that says, “You’re my favorite.”
Risk!
