Parents of Teens Support Group
New Drivers…boyfriends/girlfriends…drugs/alcohol…peer pressure…tattoos…bad grades…bullimia…depression…drama queens…sullen boys…athletic or academic pressure…living a Christian life/not living a Christian life…you name it no topic is taboo…
The Parents of Teens Support Group was founded the first Sunday at Pioneer High School. Our goal is to support each other while raising these lovely human beings into adulthood while at the same time striving to keep our sanity (not to mention our sense of humor!) Five moms showed up to participate and we discussed topics like how to get dads or other caregivers involved in the group, taking care of elderly parents (the sandwich generation), parenting in blended families and good parenting books.
Let’s meet the first Monday evening of November (11/5/07) at the Starbucks at Almaden Fashion Plaza (by Costco) at 7 p.m. If you’d like to be included please respond to this post with your email address or just show up on Monday, November 5th at 7 p.m. Think of topics you’d like to discuss or just come to vent…we’ve all been there! Dads are welcome too…

If you haven’t heard of it already, I’ve heard wonderful things about “Get Out of My Life, but First Could You Drive Me & Cheryl to the Mall: A Parent’s Guide to the New Teenager.”

Mornings would be great if they came later in the day
Re: Parents of Teens Support Group
Awesome idea for a group…just connecting with other parents would be good. Love to see our parents get connected more…even reach a hand out to other parents who aren’t from The Journey and offer a good place to go and process together with others who are facing some of the same challenges… this will be good.
