Unconference topic: Moms connecting with other Moms
Topic announcer: Brandi Mincey

We talked about:
* Meeting weekly for a play group.
- Picking one location for a month at a time
- Picking a time of day a month at a time (morning or afternoon to give working moms a
chance to be a part of things as well)
* Meeting monthly on a Saturday to give everyone a chance to connect
- These days can include family, kids, or just a mom’s day
* Planning excursion days
- to the zoo, Happy Hollow, aquarium, etc.
* Joining an already established MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers) group or using that format
* Being available to help single Moms
* Have a babysitting list
- Lots of people don’t have family in town that are great babysitters. We all agreed that
watching somone’s child for an hour while having to go to the doctor, etc.,
would be so easy. Have an established list for that.
- Maybe also having a high school / college list from the church who are available to
babysit.

Please let me know what days / times work for a weekly play group. We’d love to get something going asap. You can respond to this post or email me.

Looking forward to meeting more Moms!

Days to play

Monday is my day at home so I can definately do Mondays. My schedule is somewhat flexible so I can make other days work, too.
I am looking forward to getting to know you all!

Re: Moms

Is this a segrigated group only to moms? I ask because I am a stay at home dad and have been for 4 years and have been apart of the past play groups and have had lots of fun exchanging diaper stories. Let me know if this is open or closed to dads. Thanks, Frank

Open

The playgroup is open to parents- moms and dads alike. Our plan is to meet at Fridays at 3 at a local park. So far, there has only been one playgroup at Moore Park but I think that was a good location. Frank, do you want to be on the email list? If you come, Kirk will probably come too.
