Education Opportunity: Perspectives
Home Church in Campbell will be offering a class called Perspectives on the World Christian Movement starting next month & you’re all invited to check it out. Here’s a bit more about the course:
“Perspectives on the World Christian Movement is a dynamic course where you’ll discover what God is doing around the world and consider your part in His purposes.”
Perspectives is a 15-week course that challenges participants to view Christianity in a global perspective. It’s taught by many different people who serve all over the world. This class was developed by the U.S. Center for World Mission and has been offered all over the world with over 70,000 graduates. You can even get college credit for completing this course.
The class will be on Mondays from 6:15-9:15 pm, starting on January 28. Dinner is served at 5:30. If you’d like more information, check out the website: www.theharvestgroup.net or contact Becky 408-365-8405 or pwcm-campbell@theharvestgroup.net.
A few people at the Journey have taken this class. If you’re one of them, feel free to chime in on what it’s like.
perspectives
Home Church is the location but Perspectives is an International, non deminational non profit organization, offering some of the best speakers from all over. Caution: it will rock the very foundation of how you view “Church”, you will probably never be the same.
You can go for the college credit (and the homework), or you can just audit it and enjoy the reading and speakers. Either way it is one of the most amazing courses you can take.
Worth it!
I audited the Perspectives class last year. I did all the readings and homework except for the papers. The readings are so interesting. I learned a ton. The speakers I had were top notch. It was AMAZING to hear what God is doing outside of our little corner of the world. It will challenge you to look beyond yourself. You willl see that we are all called to the share Christ, whether here or somewhere else. It is well worth your time and money.
price?
anybody know the price?
i looked on the website and could not find it….
price
for certificate or enrichment (no college credit) it’s $245. for undergraduate or graduate credit, it’s $465.
there will be brochures at the connect table this week or i can send one in snail mail to anyone who asks.
cost
the cost is high at first glance but don’t forget it includes the speakers, which are flown in from all over, and the work book as well as a huge text, which is chapters from some of the best Christian books writtien. I will put the text out on the connect table sunday. it is well worth it.
