It was a major battle… I can still remember the look on the face of the state superintendent of education in Oregon (Norma Paulus) when parents of home schoolers flooded the conference room at the capital to overflowing into the halls… she was defiant… she said to us arrogantly “I am here to tell you we want more restrictions on home schooling”… some of our group told her… “you can’t do a good job with your own schools why do you want to tell us how to do our jobs”. I mean really… most parents know what is best for their own kids.

THANK U JIM!! Seriously though. I can’t imagine the struggle that it was for you guys back in the day. I mean now I still am slightly fearful(I’m learning to leave it with God), but if I was schooling back then, i would have been paranoid! I can’t imagine what you had to go through just for your basic rights to your own children. Thank God theres a God :D
