What happens when we have given the Holy Spirit complete freedom to do whatever He wants to do?
Have you ever asked for the Holy Spirit? Have you ever experienced the Holy Spirit? If you have then please tell us, What happens when we have givin the Holy Spirit complete freedom to do whatever He wants to do?
He
Wow… what an incredible question. I am so glad you said “He”. I believe He is a part of the trinity… He has feelings, He can be offended, He “comes”, He “goes”, etc. I sometimes attend meetings on Saturday night where He is “allowed” to do whatever he wants and it is so refreshing. He convicts me of sin in a very constructive way. He gave me a supernatural prayer language to pray things I would not normally be able to pray. He has revealed to me what heaven will be like in full living color. He puts his “hand” in mine when I lay hands on the sick or the down-hearted. He reveals details about people’s lives and spiritual situation that I would not normally know. He helps me to take care of my family. He helps me to do my job and be a servant to the company I work for. He is wonderful. He is my paraclete.
1 Peter 1:8 Though you have not seen him, you love him; and even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy…
John 14:15 If you love me, you will obey what I command. 16And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Counselor to be with you forever— 17the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be[c] in you. 18I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you. 19 Before long, the world will not see me anymore, but you will see me. Because I live, you also will live. 20On that day you will realize that I am in my Father, and you are in me, and I am in you. 21Whoever has my commands and obeys them, he is the one who loves me. He who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I too will love him and show myself to him.”
Acts 8:16-18 …because the Holy Spirit had not yet come upon any of them; they had simply been baptized into[a] the name of the Lord Jesus. 17Then Peter and John placed their hands on them, and they received the Holy Spirit.
Acts 19:6 When Paul placed his hands on them, the Holy Spirit came on them, and they spoke in tongues[a] and prophesied.
Jude 1:19-21 These are the men who divide you, who follow mere natural instincts and do not have the Spirit. But you, dear friends, build yourselves up in your most holy faith and pray in the Holy Spirit. 21Keep yourselves in God’s love as you wait for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to bring you to eternal life.
I Thess 1:5 …because our gospel came to you not simply with words, but also with power, with the Holy Spirit and with deep conviction. You know how we lived among you for your sake.
…and many more scriptures.
It is a difficult thing for us to relinquish authority to the Holy Spirit (individually or corporately) but he can help us and when we do… look out, the most unexpected things can happen.
