I found a startup church in the area pastored by and composed mostly of Indian Software Engineers. God bless them. The pastor is a fairly new Christian with a big vision for missions in India. Pretty exciting.

Beware… it is very embryonic yet (early stage startup) and it is not in any way Journeyesque or even very Californian but they are wonderful people and the pastor is very gifted and authentic from what I can discern so far… and it is right down the street from where I live. Check out the “history” link in particular. An interesting point that John Henry (the Sr Pastor) brought up was that people in India aren’t really interested in Christ or what christians have to say until they hear of a miracle that was performed… then word gets out and people come from all over. So when they do outreaches there they don’t advertise much… not billboards, etc… God does the promotion for them. I have seen this to be somewhat true in the States as well. We have seen this in our own neighborhood up in Oregon when my wife prayed for a neighbor lady who was diagnosed with cancer and got healed.
