vision

So here’s the dream we have (not just a one line statement) but a dream, a vision.

Is it possible to have a “church” that doesn’t feel like “church?”
Could we be known more for what we are “for” than for what we’re against?
Is it possible that people would come and spend time with us and find out we’re authentic people on a journey of faith that includes ups and downs, success and failure, strong beliefs and doubts all together in one package (or even in one person)?

Our vision is to have faith be real and relevant to everyday life. We use the term fully devoted followers of Jesus to describe something fresh, different than intellectual ascent to religious doctrine, different than church membership, we’re dreaming that we would respond to Jesus invitation to “come follow” him!

How about a Vision being captured in the words we hope describe us:

authentic [not-putting-on-airs] - no pretense
freedom to be yourself & explore at your own pace
doubt & faith exist simultaneously - we embrace honest skepticism
engaged with culture [relevant]
interactive
participatory
experiential
fun - loving
atypical [surprising people]
part of a larger movement [missional]
action oriented
outward focused
passion for journeying with people – not converting them
aware [of different opinions & midsets]
barrier free
energetic / fast paced
relational – plugged into each others lives to grow spiritually
involved / ownership in church vision
